Folks: I love the Interwebs. I really do. I will often tell people that the internet is one of the best things that ever happened to me. That and bangs. I look so much more stylish with bangs.
But I have to make a confession: ever since spring hit, I have found the internet largely uninteresting. It’s not that there isn’t cool stuff going on on the web — there totally is — but there is just so much other awesome stuff going on in the real world and so much exciting stuff to do to do besides reading and writing blogs.
Like creating new flowerbeds in the back yard with Ben, replanting hostas and ferns in the shade of our mulberry trees. Or watering my vegetable garden. Or harvesting salad greens with my mom. Or mowing the lawn while my husband trims the bushes. Or baking bread. Or hosting a barbecue. Or freezing homemade jams. Or taking a weekend road trip.
These are the things I’ve been doing the last few weeks and plan to do in the weeks to come.

Clik here to view.So I’ve decided to declare an official Blogging Slow-Down for the month of June. I also won’t be on Twitter or Facebook all that much, either. Strawberry season is almost upon us, soon to be followed by raspberries and then cherries. And I’m a farm girl. If given a choice between sitting in front of my computer or climbing a cherry tree with a basket of shiny, sun-warmed fruit tied to my waist, I’m going to pick the latter. But I plan to still post something about once a week, just to keep my brain on track. I figure you guys all have better things to do right now than read blogs, anyway. Right? C’mon, it’s summer!
I also have two jobs right now that I’m trying to balance — one in publishing and one in education research. They are keeping me quite busy when I’m not hoeing or harvesting or cleaning or cooking. So a slow-down sounds smart right now.
But I will be back on a more full-time basis at the end of the month. I love Project M. I love talking about marriage, because I love marriage. I love my brilliant and generous readers. But right now, I love living just a tiny bit more.
Try not to miss me too much!
What kinds of things are you doing instead of blogging? Please tell me you’re doing other things besides blogging. It’s June!
